Instructor Training

Oysterair can deliver the following instructor courses:

Teaching and Learning Course.
Synthetic Flight Instructor (Aeroplane) - SF50 and BE90/99/100/200.
Type Rating Instructor (Aeroplane) - SF50 and BE90/99/100/200.
Instructor Refresher Seminar - SFI(A) and TRI(A).

SFI(A) and TRI(A) Pre-Entry Requirements

SFI applicants shall meet the following requirements:

Hold or have held a CPL(A), MPL(A) or ATPL(A);
Have completed the type rating course (FSTD course elements only) including the proficiency check for the issue of the type rating in a FFS representing the type, within the 12 months preceding the application;
Have completed at least 500 hours of flight time PIC on single-pilot aeroplanes;
Hold or have held a multi-engine IR(A) rating; and
Completed, as a pilot or as an observer, within the 12 months preceding the application, at least: 3 route sectors on the flight deck of the type; or 2 line-orientated flight training-based simulator sessions conducted by qualified flight crew on the flight deck. These simulator sessions will include 2 flights of at least 2 hours each between 2 different aerodromes, and the associated pre-flight planning and de-briefing.

For SFI (SPA) multi-pilot instructional privileges:

Holds or has held a TRI certificate for multi-pilot aeroplanes; or
Has at least 500 hours on aeroplanes in multi-pilot operations and completed the MCCI training course (FCL.930.MCCI).

TRI applicants shall meet the following requirements:

Hold a CPL(A), MPL(A) or ATPL(A);
Have completed, within the 12 months preceding the date of the application, at least 30 route sectors, including take-offs and landings, as PIC on the type, of which a maximum of 15 sectors may be completed in a FSTD representing the type; and
Have competed at least 500 hours flight time as a pilot on aeroplanes, including 30 hours as PIC on the type; or hold or have held an FI certificate for multi-engine aeroplanes with IR(A) privileges.

For TRI (SPA) multi-pilot instructional privileges:

Holds or has held a TRI certificate for multi-pilot aeroplanes; or
Has 500 hours on aeroplanes in multi-pilot operations and completed the MCCI training course (FCL.930.MCCI).
